Visiting Belize, one of the most exotic travel destinations worldwide
As we continue our trip through Central America, we visit Belize and stop here for a while… ok, so it’s a little bit more than just a while! Belize has so much to offer, that it’s just impossible to stop here only for a day or two!
Mark Belize on your tourist attraction map
The small, yet extremely charming country is located between Mexico and Guatemala, on the Caribbean coast of Central America.
Getting there is quite easy, as you can chose to travel by air (the most common choice of travelers coming from the US), by bus (from nearby countries) or by sea (at the end of a beautiful cruise through the Caribbean).
Due to it’s location, the weather in Belize is perfect for holidays almost all year-round, as the only significant difference between the local winter (from December to March) and summer (from May to September) is a temperature variation of just a few degrees Celsius.
Belize Travel tips & Travel Budget
The best time to travel is during the so-called dry season (between December and May), for obvious reasons: the amount of rain is smaller, so you will get the most from a day on the beach. Off course, you should know that this is also the time of the year when the biggest number of tourists come to visit Belize, so it will be unlikely to find cheap accommodation.
If you’re traveling to Belize on a budget though, you should consider planning your vacation during the wet season (anywhere between June and November), when everything is less expensive, resorts are not crowded and only the rainy days will keep you away from the beach. But don’t worry: just bring your umbrella and you will find that there is a lot more to Belize traveling than just sandy beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters. Plus, during a holiday of … let’s say … 7 to 10 days, there is a big chance that you will get your nice share of sunny days, anyway!
