As promised, I am continuing my articles on Belize traveling by sharing with you the key tourist attractions that you should mark on your travel guide to Belize.
Belize attraction: The Great Blue Hole
Probably the main tourist attraction in Belize – at least for scuba divers, snorkelers or underwater enthusiast – is the Great Blue Hole, a circular-shape hole which resulted from a collapsed cave thousands of years ago and located in the Caribbean Sea, about 80 km of Belize City.
The Blue Hole is approximately 300 meters wide and 124 meters deep, offering divers views of a striking beauty – amazing coral shapes and stalactites thousand of years old.
Dive trips to the Great Blue Hole – that can last for a full day or night – can be booked from the cities on mainland or from one of the islands off the coast.
Other marine tourist attractions in Belize
The Belize Barrier Reef – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – is a real delight for tourist that spend here day after day diving and watching hundreds of species of fish, turtles, dolphins and multicolored coral gardens.
Most tourists who visit Belize each year are attracted by the variety of water sports and activities, so fishermen, surfers or kayakers can easily find great places to improve their skills.
